I’m always on the lookout for the latest
trends and as I like nothing
more than fashion that stands out from the crowd,
I’m particularly enthusiastic about the recent celebrity showcase of skin-tight
leotards.
We’re all familiar with pictures of Rhianna
sporting nothing more than a sparkling, backless leotard and a pair of black Converse,
when she stepped out in Barbados earlier this month for the Kadooment Day
Parade. If you somehow missed out on this, you can see the pictures for yourself

This isn’t the only time the star has made
use of the fashion piece to grab the world’s attention. Back in 2011, the
singer raised more than a few eyebrows when she appeared in a flesh-coloured
example in the music video for ‘You Da One’ and in July of this year, she was
spotted in London showcasing a figure-hugging red leopard print leotard.
My styling is a little less dramatic than
Rhianna’s and though I admire her bold fashion statements, I prefer to keep
things simpler and more understated, with a classic black leotard.
Take a look at these leotards from online

considerably more affordable that examples from regular fashion stores. They
also come in a range of styles and colours, although I think classic black is

Pair a black, long sleeved leotard with a
full shape skirt, in a vibrant print like this

equally fantastic with offset, baggy jeans. I would keep accessories minimal,
although the simplicity of a leotard means that you can afford to be a little
bulkier with the jewellery you opt for; I would wear a thick gold chain like this
piece from Topshop and electric blue nail vanish to complement the ASOS
skirt.
