TRESemme x GoGirl #RoadToNewYork #MBFW challenge 2: [REVIEW]PRABALGURUNG spring 2014 RTW
10:31 PM
Prabal Gurung -born as a Nepalese American- is one of New York Based designers that always caught my attention (pstt.. First lady of USA and even Lady Gaga's attention too), all because He always delivers unexpected concept and makes everyone blown away by his spectacular show. His debut collection on NYFW in February 2009 was a big hit, He brought a new dimension of modern luxury style and sense of glamour for newyorker..which is become prabal gurung's signature style. He always focus on quality ( every fashion designer always focus on that tho :p ) but i think his innovation made him one of the top notch American fashion designer.
This Spring 2014 collection, bright pastel colors, abstract florals dominate the scene. For this collection his muse was the famous lady- Marilyn Monroe which represent Gurung's conception of idealized woman. inspired by 1950s fashion era, all bright pastel colors satin, abstract floral print under the plastic-ish fabrics plus the volumize silhouettes looking more futurisitic. spotted so many PVC-based pieces and volume volume volume everywhere.
This spring 2014 RTW collection def Gurung's piece of art! From 50s inspired pencil skirt, calf-length, patchwork leather and tulle combo to the printed PVC fabrics that combined with perspex harness are dedicated for women that have a unique spin of uptown and ladylike style with downtown edge, we often called this newyorker chic kind of style but in a "hardcore" way
